Dr Nick Bedford

Nick is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with broad experience in pelvic floor and menstrual conditions.

Qualifications

Nick is a New Zealand trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. For his final year of training, he worked at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, before completing a 2-year Fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and pelvic floor repair at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide.


His training equipped him with a range of approaches for pelvic floor surgery, along with excellent appreciation of anatomy and surgical technique.  In addition he has had experience with a broad range of persistent pain presentations within gynaecology, with a particular focus on pelvic floor pain.

Nick provides care for women with pelvic floor disorders including conservative and surgical approaches to prolapse.  He can offer a range of options for management of  menstrual conditions such as adenomyosis, endometriosis, and fibroids.

Nick is Clinical Lead for the tertiary Women’s Health Service at Wellington Hospital. He participates in multidisciplinary pelvic floor and endometriosis care, co-supervises an AGES Fellow, and has involvement in the teaching and training of registrars, junior doctors and University of Otago students.
